The Ros Comer-coached team made it all the way to the semi-finals at the State Netball Centre, where it was defeated in overtime by five goals.
A team of eight players from the Golden City All Abilities competed for North Central against teams from Gippsland Geelong Goulburn and regions in Melbourne districts.
Comer said the team performed ‘exceptionally well’ given it was undermanned compared to other teams, which had 11 or 12 players.
North Central lost its opening match to Barwon by four goals, before scoring wins against Chisholm, Elmer and Goulburn.
The team narrowly missed out on top position at the end of the tournament, with the semi-final against Barwon going into extra time after scores were drawn at full-time.
“It was an excellent effort by all players,” Comer said.
