Committee president Sam Kane said hundreds of people were involved in Saturday’s sale, including stall holders and patrons.
He said a cheese toastie truck from Melbourne was one of the star attractions, raising about a third of the total fundraising sum.
“It was really great to see everyone coming down and supporting the pool,” Mr Kane said.
He said the outlook for the summer season, which opens on November 17, was ‘fairly positive’.
Mr Kane said volunteers had been hard at work repainting the sides of the swimming pool.
The committee had also launched a new junior volunteer team and was working on forming partnerships with other community groups.
However, Mr Kane said plans for a new chemical storage shed at the pool had experienced setbacks.
The committee appealed for support from the state government’s Pick My Project initiative to upgrade the chemical shed – works it said were needed to meet provisions the City of Greater Bendigo set at the last lease extension.
Councillors voted in February to keep the Golden Square Pool open for two more years.

Golden Square Pool’s chemical shed campaign did not receive enough votes to receive a share of the Pick My Project funding.
“We’re waiting on further council advice regarding the chemical shed,” Mr Kane said.
The committee was also unsuccessful in its Pick My Project campaigns for support to provide an all abilities toilet and additional shade structures at the pool.
Mr Kane said community suggestions such as extended opening hours and water aerobics had been taken on board ahead of the summer season.
"We can't wait to continue providing a safe, affordable and inclusive community hub for the people of Golden Square and Bendigo to cool off over summer, sit and relax at under the shade, and catch-up with friends," he said.
"We are so grateful for the support that our community has provided to us."
The City of Greater Bendigo will be monitoring how the new Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre, which opens this month, affects the Golden Square Pool’s popularity over summer.
