Hargreaves Mall and Williamson Street were buzzing with activity as the free festivities took place from 11am – 2pm.
The morning’s wet and chilly weather cleared as families made their way to the city centre, encouraging people to stop and enjoy the moment.
Attractions included jumping castles, inflatable slides, circus activities and a basketball shoot-out. Regular patrons of The Zone might have recognised its zip liner and inflatable ‘big baller’ on Williamson Street.
There was music and dancing, with several stations set up for live performances.
Acts such as the Indigenous Hip Hop Group, Junk Storm, CV Lion Dancers and BSE Academy of Creative Arts Flash Mob took centre stage in Hargreaves Mall. Meanwhile, at the intersection of the mall and Williamson Street, dance groups such as BEAM were showcasing their talents.

There were creative opportunities aplenty, with spaces to enjoy colouring, painting, and LEGO play.
Face painting, animal displays and giant bubbles were also popular.
Community groups such as the Kangaroo Flat Rotary Club supported the event.
City of Greater Bendigo community wellbeing director Vicky Mason said Funloong Fun Day was a highlight of the city's children's events calendar.
"The city is committed to providing a range of free, family friendly events throughout the year, and FunLoong Fun Day is a great example of this,” she said.
The event coincided with National Children’s Week, which runs from October 19 – 28.
