Now we have Labor’s fast rail plan trying to out do the oppositions fast rail plan. Dan Andrew’s plans appear only to relate to the lines between Melbourne and Geelong and Melbourne to Ballarat there is no mention of the Bendigo Line.

Where is our local member for Bendigo East and supposedly Minister for Transport? Why isn’t she out there making these policy statements with Dan?
I was listening to one of the local radio stations giving traffic updates and V/Line service information and heard that trains were being delayed by congestion problems.
Well surprise, surprise. No wonder trains on the Bendigo Line have congestion problems, because they have not completed the designated line from Sunbury to Southern Cross V/Line trains are still getting caught up in the Metro services. Why? Because they haven’t put a separate line from Sunbury to Sunshine where the designated line kicks in with the Geelong and Ballarat services joining it there.
But has our transport minister done any thing about it? No! And it’s not as though she and the Government haven’t been told of this problem.

And Dan Andrews says that Labor is the only one that can be trusted to build this proposal. Well sadly there doesn’t appear to a single politician on either side of the political spectrum that can be trusted.
They are all there for their own self interests and what they can get out of it, following party lines and listening to the wheelers and dealers pushing self interests.
Not representing the constituents, the ordinary citisen on the street, workers, students and most of all listening to the majority not the minority.
The majority of people are fed up with all sides of this political circus State, Federal and you can throw in local government as well. They say if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. Well we are paying more than peanuts and we still get monkeys.
Ivan Kitt, Bendigo
Wrong time for challenge
There is an old saying “don't change horses in midstream”. The government should have learned a lesson from that. They should have chosen a more suitable time to make the leadership challenge. It is not just a matter of political ambitions, or personal differences.
It is having an effect on millions of voters, who support the government.

Wentworth fallout
Whether or not candidate Phelps carries the day in Wentworth, at this point she is in front. The voters are showing the two major parties they are tired of obfuscation and lack of action on many issues.
Issues such as climate change, lack of funding for aged care, health and public schools. Also the attitude of some politicians as to representation in their electorate.
