The Keech Australia Fighting Miners have been drawn in Pool A within the senior men’s category and are ready to compete on their home ground at Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve.
The Miner’s will first take on Melbourne Uni, Atkinson Ceylon and Island Breeze on day one of the tournament and will play Melton Maroon on day two.
The team will require a top four finish to secure a spot in the playoffs where they will have a chance to take a share of the $10,000 prize pool.
More than 45 teams will be competing at the tournament in categories including senior men, senior women, junior boys and junior girls.
Rugby Victoria general manager Chris Evans said the Bendigo Goldfields 7s was a highlight of the annual rugby calendar.
“We love coming up to Bendigo,” Evans said.
“The community is always so welcoming and the support we get from local businesses to assist in running the event is amazing.
“We would like to thank the City of Greater Bendigo, state government and CFA for their support of the event.”
The tournament is the largest of its kind in Victoria and will be held at Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve from October 20-21.
