A man is in a stable condition at Bendigo Base Hospital after a crash on the Calder this morning.
The man was taken to hospital for observation after the crash at 6.20am near Harcourt.
The trailer on a truck struck the bumper bar of the man’s car, which was parked in the emergency lane of the Calder.
This caused the car to spin further off the road.
7.48am:
A 58-year-old Bendigo man has been taken to Bendigo Base Hospital for observation after a crash on the Calder Highway this morning. It is unknown what injuries the man has.
Police say the man was travelling south on the Calder Highway when he came to a stop in the emergency lane, about a kilometre north of the intersection with the Midland Highway.
The trailer of a truck travelling south struck the bumper bar of the car, causing the car to spin further off the road.
The truck driver was uninjured and stopped to assist at the scene.
Police say the man’s injuries are unknown, and that he was transported to hospital for a welfare check.
Police are investigating the incident.

A man in his 50s has been taken to Bendigo Base Hospital in a critical condition after a crash on the Calder Highway.
Emergency services were called to the crash near Harcourt just before 6.20am.
The crash between a truck and a car took place on the Calder Highway near its intersection with the Midland Highway.
Paramedic say the man was transported in a critical condition, but at this stage the extent of the man’s injuries is unknown.
