Matches included mixed doubles and teams events across multiple age categories.
A highlight match was a nail-biting finish from South Australia’s Ken Neubauer who defeated Victoria B’s Rajib Datta with a final score of 13-11.
Multiple players from Bendigo have been waiting all week to hit the tables for day six of the tournament.
The first player to hit the table will be Len Baldwin who will be competing in the 75 and over men’s singles category, with matches against W Borkut (VIC), A Alabaster (NZL), K Hay (QLD).
Adam Teague will be competing in the 40 and over men’s singles, with matches against A Jeffress (QLD), P Du (SA), G Morden (NSW)
Bendigo District Table Tennis Association president and tournament referee Gary Warnest said Teague was one of the stronger A grade Bendigo players.
“The competition here is extreme, with competitors from across all states of Australia, but also New Zealand and five other countries.” Warnest said.
“We wish him all the best, but we won’t give him too much of a hard time if he doesn’t walk away with gold.
“We know he will try his hardest.”
