The Bendigo Heritage Uncorked walking wine and food festival will focus on seven of Bendigo’s famous historic landmarks, with tastings of regional wines and food.
This year’s venues for event on October 20 will be Wine Bank on View, Hotel Shamrock, Ulumbarra Theatre, The Chinese Gardens, MacKenzie Quarters, Clogs and FOS Kitchen & Bar
There will be two or three wineries at each venue which will host the tour between 11am and 5pm. Bookings are essential
Other special events for the festival include the GilGraves + Clogs + Hop Supply Co on Wednesday and Glenwillow Wines – Flavour of Italy and the Wine V Beer – Seafood Showdown, both on Thursday.
Balgownie Estate will host a heritage dinner on Friday, October 19 and the People’s Choice Winners Dinner will be held on October 22

POPPET BENDIGO
The ACT Natimuk production – Poppet Bendigo – will take place on October 20 with animation, shadow puppetry, projections and sound designs to accompany the aerial artists.
Pack up a picnic and throw down a blanket to watch the show.

OCTOLBO
This weekend the Colbinabbin Country Hotel – the town’s 110-year-old pub – will host what is being called OcTolbo, a “music day-nighter”, a one-day music event that will see bands from across the state and as far afield as Western Australia play.
The family-friendly event will run from 2pm until 10pm on Saturday, with Victoria’s Sal Kimber and The Rollin’ Wheel to headline.
The line-up will also feature Melbourne-based James Kenyon, The Little Lord Street Band from Perth, and Melbourne’s Rosie Burgess.

MORRIS J VANS
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Morris J-type van, the cutest little working tradie on wheels. From the late 1950s to the 1970s, these little delivery vans were seen everywhere.
They were a favourite with local bakeries and Victoria’s Gas and Fuel Corporation had a large fleet of them.
Bendigo Tourism has worked with a collection of van enthusiasts, the J-type Register, to put these vehicles on display for the day, with around 20 vans expected to be on show.
On Sunday morning, the vans will gather in the city centre for a convoy cruise to the Morris Minor Garage, Harcourt. So keep an eye out for them on their journey

WEDDERBURN GARDEN EXPO
Nine public and private gardens will go on display for the first time in the annual Wedderburn Garden Expo on Sunday, October 21
Register and pick up map from the Wedderburn Community Centre. The $15 entry will include a Devonshire tea.
The even will run from 9.30am to 5pm.

BENDIGO GOLDFIELDS 7s
This weekend head over to Huntly to catch the Goldfields 7s in action. The event, now Victoria’s largest 7s tournament, will host more than 40 national and international teams in competions from Under 12s to seniors. Both men’s and women’s competitions will be in action.

BEACH PARTY RACE DAY
Dig out our floral shirts, summer dresses, big hats, boardies, sunnies and the zinc for a big party day at the Bendigo Jockey Club. It’s sure to be a fun day.

KYNETON MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Macedon Ranges will come alive with the Kyneton Music Festival on the weekend of October 26 and 27
The line-up includes Adalita, Sonny & The Sunsets, RVG, Pony Face, A.Swayze and The Ghosts, Rackett, The Southern River Band, Mighty Duke & The Lords, Broads, TV Haze, Harmony, Amaya Laucirica, Emilee South, The Pink Tiles, The Baudelaires, Tom Lyngcoln, James Ellis & The Jealous Guys and Moonlover.
The festival will take place over two days, with Kyneton’s iconic Piper Street the centre of all the action.
On Friday night Moonlover, The Pink Tiles, A Swayze & the Ghost and Mighty Duke & The Lords will take to the Bluestone Theatre stage.
On Saturday St Paul’s Park on Piper Street will host the main stage, alongside favourite music venue Major Tom’s next door, with local and national artists performing from midday into the evening.
Feast on local culinary delights found along Piper Street and at a fine selection of food trucks in St Paul’s Park while enjoying the sounds of the festival
Now in its seventh year, Kyneton Music Festival attracts local and metro music lovers.
