BSSC went down to Shepparton’s Notre Dame College in Tuesday afternoon’s final at North Balwyn.
BSSC was dismissed for 84 in the T20 final. Notre Dame made a quickfire start to the run chase before leg-spinner Kayde Howard gave BSSC a sniff of victory when he took a hat-trick.
The first wicket was caught by Jack Bourke at long-on, the second wicket was caught and bowled before Howard completed the hat-trick when Zane Keighran took a catch at short mid-wicket.
Notre Dame steadied with the bat and passed BSSC’s total for the loss of six wickets.
Earlier in the day, BSSC defeated Cheltenham Secondary College by four wickets in their semi-final clash.
BSSC restricted Cheltenham to 8-108 off its 20 overs, with Howard taking four wickets.
In reply, Jed Rodda belted a boundary off the second-last ball to get BSSC over the line by four wickets.
