KINGOWER skipper Braydon Welsh has begun his Upper Loddon Cricket Association season with back-to-back centuries.
Welsh followed his round one 115 against Arnold with a knock of 120 against Boort-Yando on Saturday.
Kingower, the reigning premiers, smacked 1-199 off its 35 overs, with Ben Rose (65 n.o.) providing fine support to Welsh.
Boort-Yando offered little resistance with the bat in reply, all out for 66 with only Blake Slatter (21 n.o.) reaching double figures. Seven Kingower players took wickets.
• Inglewood made it two-from-two to start the season.
Inglewood proved too strong for Newbridge, winning by 19 runs.
Inglewood answered Newbridge’s 4-146 with 3-165, with the match featuring a pair of half-centuries.
Taz Fitzallen scored 56 for Newbridge, while opener Nathan Johns batted through the innings for Inglewood to finish unbeaten on 59.
• Arnold won its opening game of the season at the expense of Bridgewater.
With recruit Matt Giri cracking 81 on debut Arnold compiled 169 before being bowled out in the last over.
All seven Bridgewater bowlers used took at least one wicket.
A top-order collapse in reply curtailed the Bulls’ winning chances.
Having progressed to 27 without loss, the Bulls lost 4-12 to crash to 4-39 before being bowled out for 102.
Arnold’s Cody Anderson produced a solid bowling performance to finish with 4-24 off seven overs.
• Wedderburn won by forfeit against Serpentine.
