Bendigo junior volleyball players performed well for Victoria at the national junior championships in Coomera, Queensland last week.
The under-17 blue women’s side secured a silver medal, going down to Queensland in the final, with coach Laura Roberts and Libero Holly Eason representing the Bendigo Volleyball Association.
Lewis Roberts, playing in the under-17 boys division, Amelia Bowles, in the under-15 girls division, secured bronze medals.
In the divisional girls section, Steph Phillips, Luella Anstead, Lucia Bowles, Susie Godfrey, Ellex Skinner and Kilby Todd won a bronze medal after defeating New South Wales in a thrilling five-set play-off.
The Presidents Cup, awarded to the best overall state, was once again secured by Queensland. Victoria finished in third place.
