Police have confirmed the two victims of the head-on collision yesterday near Leitchville, along the Murray Valley Highway were a 75-year-old-man from Birchip and a 41-year-old woman from Gunbower.
UPDATE 3pm:
A man and women have been killed following a head-on collision in Leitchville this morning.
Two vehicles collided on the Murray Valley Highway at around 10.45 am which resulted in one vehicle overturning and catching fire.
The male driver of one vehicle and the female driver of the overturned vehicle both died at the scene.
Both were the sole occupants of each vehicle.
The Murray Valley Highway, between Bollinds and Kerang-Leitchville Roads, will be closed for several hours with diversions in place.

The Murray Valley Highway has been closed at Thompsons Weir Road in Leitchville following a vehicle collision.
Police are directing traffic in both directions at Thompsons Weir Road due to a two-car collision.
Drivers are warned to expect delays and possible diversions.
