Bendigo’s pollen monitoring system delivered its first thunderstorm asthma forecast on Monday.
Pollen counts are low for the week in Bendigo, but forecast to rise to moderate on Sunday.
The system forecasts the risk of thunderstorm asthma in nine districts across Victora.
Forecasts the North Country and North Central regions listed the Pollen Forecast as low for Thursday and Friday.
Pollen data from nine stations across Victoria will be collected between October 1 and December 31.
Thunderstorm asthma can be sparked when high amounts of pollen in the air occur at the same time as some types of thunderstorm.
Asthmatics and those with a pollen allergy are at risk of thunderstorm asthma.
