FUNDRAISER
St John of God Hospital Auxiliary
Out shopping on Thursday? Before you spend up big, stop by the St John of God Hospital Auxiliary trading table to pick up some goodies.
There will be cakes, slices, jams, handicraft and more on sale for all to enjoy.

MADCOW Stampede
The third annual MADCOW (Make A Difference Change Our World) Stampede is on again raising awareness and funds to support homeless and marginalised in Bendigo.
Funds raised will also go towards food and education resources to Karen refugees.
Get registering, find your sponsors, walk around the lake and raise money for a great cause.

EXHIBITIONS
Gothic Beauty: Victorian notions of love, loss and spirituality
Curated by Tansy Curtin and Jessica Bridgfoot (and as a Bendigo Art Gallery exclusive), this exhibition takes a look into early Victorian rituals of mourning, as early as the 1800’s.
The artists featured in the exhibition range from Jane Burton, Bill Henson and Janet Beckhouse just to name a few.
This exhibition draws on works from the gallery's historic collections, as well as loaned pieces and works from contemporary artists.

When: October 6, 2018 – February 10, 2019.
Triangularism
Robert Penno of Rob Penno Art currently has his work displayed at a local hotel, showcasing many years of his Euclidean Geometry (180 degrees in a triangle) work.
Whilst Penno works with all mediums and any topic, he specialises in triangularisms.
Most recently, Penno’s art has been accepted into the Convent Gallery in Daylesford.
Where: British American Hotel, 84 Eaglehawk Road, Bendigo.
When: Until October 28, midday – 8pm.
FAMILY FUN
Little Kids Bugaloo
Does your child enjoy bugs and the creepy crawlies? Take them to the Discovery Centre this week and let them experience a world of bugs.
Children, aged 0-5, are invited to dress up as their favourite bug, participate in stories, planetarium screenings and hands on activities.
The event also features weaving a spider web, mask making, planting and sensory activities.
The event is for ages 0 through to 5 years old with an adult present.
There must be at least one adult per 4 children with all attending requiring a ticket.
Tickets: $10 per adult, $5 per child aged 3 to 5. Free for children under 3
Pre-booking is essential, so book here to secure a spot.

When: Thursday, October 11, 10am – midday.
Vic Fish Kids Program
The Victorian Fisheries Authority is hosting an event aimed a getting children involved in fishing.
This free event has everything provided with children supervised in a safe and supportive environment.
The day features activities such as learning to cast, tying knots and what to do with a fish when you catch one.
Participants should wear sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing. Adult supervision is essential.
Where: Kennington Reservoir, Bendigo.
When: Sunday, October 7, 10am – 2pm.
DANCING
Saturday Night Dance
Enjoy a weekend of dance and celebration at the 60th anniversary of the the Spring Gully Hall Committee's dances.
To celebrate 60 wonderful years, the group is hosting a Gala and Sash Ball on Saturday.
Music will be performed by Family Rhythm Dance Band.
$12.50 admission fee.
On Sunday, enjoy a supplied afternoon tea from 2pm.
Catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. All welcome, including ex dancers.
