KEY defender Jack Reaper has beaten Ethan Minns in a thrilling vote count to claim Gisborne’s senior football best and fairest award for 2018.
Reaper, who was named at centre half back in the Bendigo Advertiser’s BFNL team of the year, polled 54 votes, to defeat Minns by just one vote.
Matt Goodyear was third on 46, ahead of Josh Grabham (44) and Heath Simpson (34).
Minns was the club’s top votegetter in this season’s Michelsen Medal and finished the count in equal fourth-place on 14 votes.
In the top netball award, star defender Maddy Stewart added to her Betty Thompson Medal win by claiming the Bulldogs’s A-grade best and fairest.
Stewart polled 43 votes and finished well clear of defensive team-mate Keara Fitzgerald on 29, with goaler Ella Bertachinni third on 28.

B-grade netball – best and fairest: Sophia Davies; runner-up: Emily Wilson.
B-reserve netball – best and fairest: Jayde Kirkham; runner-up: Zoe Southall.
17-and-under netball – best and fairest: Tazma Morris; runner-up: Charlotte Crook.
