The Roos have already ticked off two of their off-season recruiting goals - midfield depth and key position talent.
New coach Rob Bennett said the Roos were excited about the acquisition of playing assistant coach Matt Clifford and midfield duo Scott Jansen and Daniel Rees.
Clifford and Jansen join the Roos from Hastings, while Rees was recruited from Hepburn.
"Matt's 26 or 27 and can play key position at either end or even be used through the midfield,'' Bennett said.
"He had a leadership role with Hastings and he wanted to move in that direction here, so that suited us.
"He has really good wraps as a player and as a person.
"To get Daniel Rees, a highly-skilled wingman, and another midfielder from Hastings (Jansen) as well gives us some more depth through the midfield.
"Kangaroo Flat already had three or four quality midfielders, but they can't carry the load.
“Everyone knows that these days you've got to have eight or nine guys that can rotate through the midfield."
Another key ingredient that Clifford, Jansen and Rees will bring to the Roos is finals experience.
While the majority of the Roos' list hasn't experienced finals footy at senior level, Clifford and Jansen played in a senior flag with Hastings and Rees is a multiple premiership player with Hepburn.
Bennett said the Roos were also closing in on signing a quality key forward.
The former North Bendigo coach watched some of the recent BFNL finals series and was impressed with what he saw.
“It’s all about good skills, quick ball movement, hitting your targets and being able to defend well,’’ he said.
“You’ve got to have a high fitness base and that’s something we’ll be focusing on in the pre-season.”
At this stage, the Roos haven’t lost any of their senior group from 2018. Former co-coach Corey Greer, ruckman Nick Lang and tagger Ross Turner have re-signed for 2019.
Bennett said pre-season training was likely to start in mid-November.
