Children’s Librarian Robyn Greene said there was a range of STEM based activities which highlighted the importance of experimentation.
“STEM is everywhere and this is an ideal way for them to learn, by experimenting,” Robyn said.
“Our aim is to expose them to new and exciting things in a safe environment.
“It’s very important that they’re free to immerse themselves in STEM and be confident to create new things.”
Activities included building miniature solar systems, observing insects with magnifying glasses, searching for insects in slime, building structures out of marshmallows and sticks, learning about the power of magnetic fields and much more.
Robyn said the fair allowed children to make new discoveries within STEM.
“They are all learning as they go along, but children never stop learning.”
