State Members for Bendigo, Jacinta Allan and Maree Edwards announced the funding for the Loddon Shire Council from the Stronger Regional Communities Plan on Wednesday.
The inaugural Loddon Valley Food and Wine Expo will provide the opportunity for visitors and locals to meet the producers and experience the best produce and products that the Loddon region has to offer tourists and those who might want to move into the area.
The event will be held on Saturday, 16 March 2019 and will coincide with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
It will comprise of a seated lunch at the Newbridge Recreation Pavilion prepared and cooked by a celebrity chef.
The luncheon will provide a “paddock to plate” and “meet the maker” experience that will highlight where visitors can go to experience the produce on farm with the producer and see where the produce is grown.
An expo showcasing Loddon Valley producers and products will take place in the grounds outside.
There will be stalls from local food producers and wine makers, community groups and service providers.
