Edwin said he and fellow kid president Isabella Torres-Gomez will be on hand Friday to give out badges, flags and stuff to colour in.
That will come as families gather to ride in their favourite dress-ups for a picnic and free creative activities from 2-4pm at Wolstencroft Park, Flora Hill.
The family event will launch Bike Palooza, a month-long festival with more than 120 cycling-related events.
Among other activities during the month, there will be community bike rides every Sunday from locations across Greater Bendigo, including one on 14 October that will be the first “yarn ride”.
The ride will feature the work of Bendigo’s yarn bombers and participants are encouraged to wear something knitted on the ride.
Community organisations, clubs and businesses can add their own cycling related events to the Bike Palooza Bendigo Calendar at www.bikepalooza.com
This long-weekend’s events include group rides Friday and Saturday. For more information visit the Bike Palooza website.
