Both sides had gone into the grand final with 17-1 records, but it was the Redbacks who won in a canter – 14.11 (95) to 3.5 (23).
So dominant have the Redbacks been this season, they ended 2018 with a monster percentage of 534.9, with the grand final at Princes Park the 12th time in their 19 games they held their opposition to less than 30 points.
After a shoulder injury kept him out of last year’s winning grand final team, Carisbrook ruckman and co-coach Jackson Bowen earned one of the best-on-ground medals, while team-mate Nic Wright (two goals) won the other.
Meanwhile, the A Grade netball was an epic contest in which extra time was needed before Trentham broke away to beat Carisbrook 44-34 after scores had earlier been level 30-apiece at the final siren.
Carisbrook’s Zoey Bucknall was best-on-court.
