A cold change swept across the state on Saturday, bringing winds, rain and cool temperatures.
The Bureau of Meteorology had forecast snow would fall as low as 500 metres, and on Saturday night Mount Alexander – elevation 744 metres – experienced a dusting of the white stuff.
The rainy conditions gave way to clear skies overnight in some parts, resulting in some frosts.
Sunday has emerged a sunnier and calmer day, and temperatures will continue to rise until mid-week.
