Strathfieldsaye has qualified for its fifth BFNL grand final in six years after defeating Sandhurst by 29 points in Saturday’s preliminary final at the QEO.
A seven-goal to one second quarter was the catalyst for the Storm’s impressive 13.14 (92) to to 9.9 (63) win.
They’ll now face Eaglehawk in the grand final for the second-straight season.
Bryce Curnow kicked five goals for the Storm, while Kallen Geary returned from injury in brilliant fashion.
After being 51 points down at half-time, Sandhurst fought the game out strongly in the second half, but the damage had already been done.
The result continued Strathfieldsaye’s dominance of Sandhurst in finals.
The Storm have beaten the Dragons in all five finals they’ve played.
The one negative for the Storm was a shoulder injury to young gun Bailey Henderson.
