Single traffic lanes will be reduced to 3.2 metres wide in each direction with minimal shoulder width, and there will be a temporary maximum width of 7 metres from Wednesday, September 19 to October 31.
The speed limit will be set at 40 km/h at the site.
Vehicles that need to use the full 7-metre width will require assistance from the traffic controllers on site.
The roadworks will see a new overtaking lane constructed on the highway.
VicRoads advises that the works are weather-dependent, so the dates during which the work is expected to take place could change.
