Macedon Ranges Highway Patrol have appealed for witnesses or dash cam footage after the crash between two cars and a truck at Gisborne.
Investigators believe a B-Double was travelling through a road works zone on the Calder Freeway when it collided with the rear of a Toyota hatchback and a Ford utility at about 3.45pm.
The driver of the hatch, a 26 year old Bendigo woman, was flown to Melbourne.
An 18-year-old Mill Park woman who was a passenger in the hatch was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A 39-year-old Macleod man who was driving the ute was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck, a 32-year-old Pakenham man was uninjured and stopped to assist at the scene.
