Vlaeminck, 19, will join the national team for a three-match series on September 29 in Sydney, October 1 in Brisbane and October 5 in Canberra.
An opening bowler with Victoria and the Melbourne Renegades, Vlaeminck has recovered from two knee reconstructions and a dislocated shoulder to force her way into the national team.
The Strathdale-Maristians product was one of the stars of the Australian under-19 team which won a tri-series tournament in South Africa earlier this year.
Vlaeminck claimed 6-27 and made 21 with the bat in the final of the South African event.
Vlaeminck’s selection to play the Kiwis puts her in contention for the Southern Stars’ 15-player squad for the World T20 Cup in the West Indies in November.
“The selectors are pretty strong on the 15 they have in mind, but obviously I can’t divulge that at the moment,” Australian coach Matthew Mott told cricket.com.au.
“There’s not a lot of room for change, we’re reasonably confident with what we need.
“This team hasn’t been thrown together, it’s been evolving over time so the selection is pretty strong on the make-up of that team already.”
