She will replace Jacqueline Billings, who steps down from the board this month to take up an appointment as a magistrate.
GRV chair Bernie Carolan thanked Magistrate Billings for her work.
He noted Ms McMahon’s legal skills, her regional background and her interest in racing as he welcomed her to the board.
Ms McMahon is a director of Bendigo legal firm O’Farrell Robertson McMahon, where she has been a partner for almost two decades.
The firm provides legal services to clients across central and northern Victoria.
Ms McMahon was accredited as a Family Law Specialist by the Law Institute of Victoria in 2001.
As well as her legal work, Ms Mahon is active in the Bendigo community.
She is currently the chair of Be.Bendigo, as well as a director of Coliban Water and a member of the Bendigo Jockey Club.
