BENDIGO Spirit will return to free-to-air television for the 2018/19 season after Fox Sports announced a partnership with SBS to broadcast WNBL games.

SBS will broadcast three Bendigo Spirit games, all at home at the Bendigo Stadium – against Townsville on November 24, Melbourne on December 29 and UC Capitals on January 19.
SBS will stream nine regular season games live on Saturday afternoons at 3pm, with the games also available on SBS On Demand.
Fox Sports will continue to broadcast one game per week, along with all finals.
Fox Sports took on the WNBL rights at the beginning of last season after ABC cut its WNBL broadcast earlier due to budget constraints.
Head of the WNBL Sally Phillips said it was an exciting announcement.
“I know I speak on behalf of all WNBL fans when I say that this is a truly great day for Australian Women’s basketball,” she said.
“With FOX SPORTS and SBS joining forces, it will ensure that the league will receive more exposure than ever before.
“This is a strong and meaningful broadcast partnership and I am thrilled that basketball fans around Australia will now have greater opportunities to watch our world-class athletes hit the court each week, it’s a game-changing deal.”
Head of Fox Sports Peter Campbell said the partnership with SBS would help to further grow women’s basketball in Australia.
“We will work with SBS and the WNBL to bring women’s basketball and these incredible athletes to more fans around the country,” he said.
