Specimen Hill overcame Violet Street Primary School 2-1 (25-16, 25-17, 6- 25) in a closely fought grand final at Bendigo Stadium.
Specimen Hill Primary School physical education co-ordinator Todd Broadbent said it was a fantastic achievement for both teams to reach the grand final.
“All the students were so happy, and I was extremely proud of the way they played the game – they showed fantastic skills, encouraged each other and showed great sportsmanship throughout the game and competition,” he said.
“Overall, I am really proud of what the students have been able to achieve this year with many of the students now playing for four years.”
Broadbent, well known for his involvement with the Bendigo Academy of Sport volleyball program, praised the efforts of winning coach Belinda Seymour
“Belinda did an outstanding job and the team couldn’t have done it without her,” he said.
“All the students, parents and everyone at Speci really appreciate it.
“Also thank you to all the parents for their support throughout the competition and especially cheering on the Speci team during the grand final.”
The accolades for the school and team did not stop with the grand final win, with Specimen’s Hill’s Aidan Robinson named the competition’s most valuable player.
