The Drover Award goes to the best performing arts centre of the year with Capital Venues beating out Geelong Performing Arts Centre, Queen’s Park Theatre in Geraldton and the Orange Civic Theatre.
Director Strategy and Growth Bernie O’Sullivan said the unit was thrilled to have won the award.
He said the talented and passionate staff make it possible for Bendigo residents to enjoy such a great selection of quality drama, comedy, dance, music, community performances and other special events.
“Our team strives to provide the best possible performing arts experience for touring companies, performers and our audience,” Mr O’Sullivan said.
“Each year our dedicated and professional team attracts and manages a varied and high quality season of performances. To receive this award and national recognition from industry peers is hugely encouraging.”
