Ophir Street resident Lee McArthur said she heard bangs at the time of the fire.
Ms McArthur said she didn’t realise there was a fire on the street until a neighbour knocked on her door to warn her.
At that point the car was well and truly on fire, Ms McArthur said.

The arson squad will investigate after a car fire in Golden Square on Tuesday evening.
Police and CFA were called to a fire in the backyard of a home on Ophir Street at 7.11pm.
The fire was under control within ten minutes.
Its cause will be investigated today.
