Mrs Jones grew up in Rushworth, east of Bendigo where she met her husband William when she was 19-years-old at a dinner dance. They had nine children in total, five daughters and four sons.
Dancing and cooking have always been her favourite hobbies, especially cooking meals for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs Jones was named after British Nurse Edith Cavell, who was celebrated for saving the lives of soldiers on both sides of conflict during the First World War.
Mrs Jones said the secret to her longevity was staying positive and taking vitamins everyday.
“I can still touch my toes and I don’t get arthritis,” Mrs Jones laughed.
“Oh and don’t forget the two or three cups of tea every day.”
