In its second season in the league, Shepparton United has 17 wins, one draw and one loss heading into the final round and can’t be displaced at the top of the table.
Shepparton United showed its class in disposing of fifth-placed Epsom 5-0 on Sunday.
Star striker Sophie Papalia scored twice to take her season tally to 28 goals. Caitlin Georgiou, Taylor Zito and Olivia Loverso also found the back of the net.
A late goal from Shepparton South star striker Alicia Rowan denied Strathdale victory and second place on the ladder.
Rowan’s second goal – her 56th of the season – tied the scores at 2-2 and ensured Shepparton South stayed two points clear of the Blues in the race for the double chance in the finals.
Lucy Teale and Brigid McNamara were on target for Strathdale.
Colts United clinched fourth place for the finals series after it defeated Eaglehawk 5-1.
Grace Edlin scored Eaglehawk’s lone goal. No goal scorers were supplied by Colts United.
Spring Gully captain Siobhan Thompson was the hero of the Reds’ 1-0 win over Tatura.
Thompson scored in the 75th minute.
Moama-Echuca Border Raiders defeated Golden City 5-0 to record their ninth win of the season.
Natalia Sands scored a hat-trick for the Raiders, while Asha Davies and Brittany Sands also scored in the impressive victory.
