About 250 people participated in this year’s Run for Dad, raising about $5500 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and Bendigo Community Health Services.
Organising committee member Keith Macdonald said participation was up slightly on last year and thanked the community for supporting the event, which was staged at the Bendigo Racecourse.
One of the event’s supporters, Melissa Douglas, was this year’s female champion.
She said she had been involved in every Run for Dad event since it started, as a supporter of the foundation and men’s health.
First-time participant Jordan Dole was this year’s male champion. He and a friend entered during the final hour of registrations.
