CALIVIL United joint coach Karen Pascoe has praised the dedication and loyalty of Demons stalwart Lauren Rogers ahead of Saturday’s second semi-final clash against Mitiamo at Pyramid Hill.
As the Demons do battle with the Superoos to become the first team through to this season’s grand final, Rogers will play her 250th senior game for the club.
Pascoe said it was an amazing effort for Rogers to continue her involvement with the Demons given she now lived in Melbourne.
“It’s a fantastic milestone for her; she’s come back to the club many times over and travelled in-between,” she said.
“She had a stint with Eaglehawk in the BFNL, so we were very pleased when she came back to Calivil in 2013.
“She’s played in finals teams ever since and has been a fantastic defender.
“We are very proud of Lauren and all of her achievements. She is heading into finals very strong and playing some of the best netball I have seen from her.”
The Demons earned the first crack at Mitiamo following last week’s narrow three goal win against Bridgewater.
With the ledger between the clubs this season at one-apiece, Pascoe insisted her team had plenty of belief it could overcome the talent-laden Superoos.

“It’s going to be another close one – every game in these finals will be the same,” she said.
“If we can play like we did last week it will set us up well. I was pleased with how the girls all pulled together and composed themselves when challenged.
“We will have to do that again this weekend as Mitiamo are a class side.”
The Superoos, who finished as minor premiers, will be playing their first game since defeating Marong on August 4, but have kept themselves sharp with some practice matches against BFNL opponents.
Meanwhile, Bridgewater clashes with Maiden Gully YCW in Sunday’s other semi-final at the Eagles’ home at Marist College.
The Mean Machine defeated the Eagles 43-28 in their earliest season encounter, but lost by one goal later in the season.
Maiden Gully YCW defeated Newbridge 37-26 in last weekend’s elimination final.
