Contestants transformed a number of one-bedroom, one-bathroom units in the city for Kids Under Cover – a non-for-profit organisation preventing youth homelessness across Victoria.
And while they might not be considered true blue Bendigonians, Queensland couple and parents Norm and Jess revealed they used to live in the city.
Unfortunately, the town’s architectural beauty was overlooked for the inside of a warehouse where the units were revamped.
Those on the show took a break from renovating the infamous Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda for the challenge, and were given $5000 to spruce up the structures.
The units will be transported around the state to provide safe and secure housing for five at-risk or vulnerable Australians.
It’s not the first time Bendigo has brushed shoulders with The Block.
The winners of series nine of The Block, Shannon and Simon Voss, in February 2015 headed to the city for the opening of the Beaumont Tiles showroom in Strickland Road.
