Locals Cath Styles and Simone Amohanga will join Jacqueline Mifsud, Geraldine Hickey and Sonia di Iorio for Women of Wit – Volume 2 on September 21. It follows the first Women of Wit show in June.
“The first one was a massive success,” Amohanga said. “Hopefully it becomes a regular event.”
Amohanga said Australia is behind the rest of the world when it comes to the women in comedy.
“There some really big names, like Hannah Gadsby, who are being well received (worldwide) but, as with most comedy circuits, there is a big white male representation and we want to see more women involved.
“It is good for an audience to get range of comedians and there is a real mix of comedy styles and types of people in Women of Wit.”
Women of Wit – Volume 2 is on at the Engine Room in View Street on September 21. Tickets are $15. Head to www.gotix.com.au to book.
