Designs for five towns were based on the priorities identified in community plans. They have been revised following a number of community workshops and public consultations.
“The designs have generated some great discussion so far, so we’re giving the communities in these towns another two weeks to provide feedback,” Mount Alexander Shire’s manager of community partnerships Gaynor Atkin said.
“We really want to hear from people if there are elements they would like changed, feel should be done differently or support particular elements.
Mount Alexander Shire has budgeted $100,000 to begin implementing streetscape designs in its 2018/19 Annual Budget, and will seek external funding for some of the larger elements of each design as required.
The revised draft streetscape designs are available online at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay as well as various locations in each of the five towns.
The designs are expected to be finalised in November.
Council is also finalising streetscape design guidelines for Castlemaine and Maldon as part of a separate project.
