The company issued a statement about 11.20am, saying the issue had been out of staff members’ control.
The supermarket company apologised for any inconvenience.
EARLIER: Coles supermarkets in Bendigo have been affected by a glitch that has closed stores across the country, but it is understood they are now all open.
The Kangaroo Flat and McIvor Road stores were both affected by the fault affecting cash registers, but the issue is understood to have been rectified for the two supermarkets.
The McIvor Road store was affected for almost four hours.
It has not yet been confirmed if the glitch had an impact on operations at the Bendigo CBD store.
The outage has affected some but not all outlets in Australia.
Some stores had reopened before 10am others were open early, but closed again later.
“We apologise. This store is currently closed due to circumstances beyond our control," read a sign outside one Coles store.
"We are working to resolve the issue and will re-open as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
