POLICE are seeking information following an altercation in Bendigo this evening allegedly involving a man with a hunting knife.

Bendigo Sergeant Mick Delaney said the altercation involved a male and a female and occurred about 5.45pm today at the intersection of Queen and Arthur Streets in Bendigo.
A large hunting knife was alleged to have been produced.
Sergeant Delaney said the female was assaulted and sustained minor injuries.
The male was still at large.
Sergeant Delaney said the male was last seen in the vicinity of the Bendigo Library.
He was wearing a blue Suzuki jacket with red and white sleeves; brown pants; and boots.
Police believe the male was carrying a blue esky and a hunting knife.
He was described as being about six foot tall with a brown fringe.
“Police are looking for any witnesses to the incident to come forward,” Sergeant Delaney said.
