Fresh off their first finals appearance since 2011 last season, the Goers have added all-rounder Liam Evans and bowler Kane Goldsworthy to their list for their 2018-19 Bendigo District Cricket Association campaign.
The Goers also have all-rounder Nathan Fitzpatrick returning to the club following his one-season stint coaching North Geelong.
Evans, 23, and Goldsworthy, 23, are both education students at La Trobe University and keen to continue their cricket careers in Bendigo.
Goldsworthy joins the Goers from Cobram-Yarroweyah United and Evans from Nathalia, where he has played in three premierships.
Goldsworthy took 20 wickets for Cobram-Yarroweayah United last season.
Evans is an opening batsman and off-spinner who combined 16 wickets with 345 runs last season for Nathalia.
Both were part of the Murray Valley team that won the 2017 division two title at Melbourne Country Week, while earlier this year Evans produced a dominant performance with bat (58) and ball (3-20) in Murray Valley’s Bendigo Country Week division one grand final win over Goulburn Murray.
Bendigo coach Shane Koop said the pair would both be valuable additions to the Goers.
“Both are experienced cricketers and we’re looking forward to them connecting with our club and providing that experience they have had at representative level,” Koop said on Thursday.
“Our main recruitment policy is based around making sure we are recruiting great people and both are fantastic.
“Not only are their cricket skills great, but what they are going to bring to our culture is going to be really important.
“They have already been to our three pre-season training sessions so far and have fitted in beautifully.”
The 2018-19 BDCA season is set to start on Saturday, October 6. The fixture is still to be released.
