A LARGE amount of blood marked the scene of an alleged burglary at a home in Echuca Village this morning, according to police.

Police are seeking information about any person with a new, laceration-type injury to their hand or forearm after an incident at Mitchell Road about 4.20am.

It is believed an occupant at the address disturbed a male burglar standing outside the kitchen window in an enclosed patio area.
“When confronted, the offender has made a verbal demand on occupant before punching and smashing the glass window separating,” police wrote in a post on social media.
“The occupant has called out to anther person inside the residence and the offender has ran off.
“The offender has injured themselves when punching the glass window leaving a large amount of blood at the scene.”
Police believe the injury will be noticeable and might require medical attention.
