NBL champions Melbourne United have re-signed their superstar imports Josh Boone and Casper Ware Jr. in a boost for their title defence.
Boone led the league in rebounds while Ware led the team in points per game and assists last season and lit up the finals with massive outings against New Zealand and Adelaide.
The American pair both received All-NBL First Team honours.
Melbourne head coach Dean Vickerman said Ware was an asset to United at both ends of the court.
"It's really hard to find a two-way player like Casper who is so good at the defensive end and can be so dynamic at the offensive end," Vickerman said.
"To have Casper and Josh back is not only good for the chemistry of this group, and the synergy that they've already had, but it's great for the club.
With the championship-winning spine of Ware, Boone and Chris Goulding all returning, and the addition of Boomer Mitch McCarron, Vickerman felt confident about their prospects of going back to back.
Melbourne United have also signed promising youngster Sam McDaniel, the son of former NBL journeyman Wayne, to a development contract.
