Written Sergei Prokofiev, it is one of the most well known pieces of classical music and coupled with the narrator is popular with young audiences.
Artistic director Nicolette Fraillon said playing for young children was fun.
“It’s fabulous because it’s a completely different audience that we perform for,” she said.
Orchestra Victoria’s Peter and the Wolf returns to Bendigo Library today at 2pm.
OV also hosts a pre-schooler’s Cushion Concert at The Capital at 10.30am, an underground performance at Central Deborah Gold Mine at 5pm (bookings essential) and an opera-inspired program at Star Cinema from 7pm.
