Tyrian Andrews, also from Bendigo, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death in relation to the crash at Moama.
But she failed to appear for sentencing at Griffith District Court last week, despite having attended court the previous day, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
She remains in custody following a hearing in the District Court in Sydney on Tuesday.
Ms Pitson, 22, died at the scene and Andrews, then 19, suffered serious injuries in the February 13, 2016 crash on Perricoota Road.
The car Andrews was driving left the road and struck a tree, then came to rest on its side.
