Radio hosts Flick and Tim came up with an idea Monday to raise a bit of money for farmers doing it tough.
They have now rocked up for their first day of 15 jobs at businesses pledging to donate to the Buy a Bale campaign.
Just today hosts have helped raise about $25,000.
“We are working everywhere from dog groomers to pubs, cafes and tractor sales,” Tim said.
One of the toughest jobs came when Tim cleaned an unheated display pool at Clark Rubber. He jumped in wearing budgie smugglers.
“I think sometimes I forget, and take for granted, just how cushy it is working in radio. I’ll tell you what, working at the Bridgewater Bakehouse with 14 people in the line – I’ve haven’t been swept off my feet like that in quite a while,” he said.
“It’s great to be out there meeting all these wonderful people. Everyone is so happy and excited by the project, and so happy to be helping out.”
