BENDIGO’S Caitlin Thwaites will continue her career at Collingwood Magpies under the direction of a familiar face.
The under-performing Magpies have turned to former NSW Swifts coach Rob Wright to help them fulfill their Super Netball potential.
The Magpies and inaugural coach Kristy Keppich-Birrell parted ways after missing the finals in the two years of the competition despite their star-studded line- up.
Wright, who was part of Collingwood's coaching panel this season, has been signed on a two-year deal.
"I've thoroughly enjoyed my first year at Collingwood and I am excited by the opportunity to continue what has been created in the formative years of Magpies netball," Wright said.
"We have much to build on and work with; quality talent, amazing and committed staff and excellent facilities.
"With the backing of the club and our supporters, we have all of the ingredients for success."
Wright was head coach at the Swifts, where his charges included Australian Diamonds star Thwaites, for three seasons from 2014.
He led the Swifts to back-to-back grand final appearances in 2015 and 2016 against the Queensland Firebirds.
Wright twice visited Bendigo earlier this year to take charge of training sessions for Kangaroo Flat and Elmore.
