Two teenagers charged with the murder of Maryborough man John Bourke will be held in custody for another 21 days following a special hearing in a Children’s Court on Monday. As juveniles, the two boys – aged 17 and 15 – cannot be held in remand for longer than 21 days without a special hearing. Their matters will again be heard in court later this month, for further rollover. They are not required to appear for these special hearings to extend their remand. Mr Bourke, 45, was discovered deceased at a home in Derby Street, Maryborough, shortly after 12.30pm on Sunday, July 15. Police announced later that day that they deemed his death suspicious.
