The Tigers were held goalless after half-time, but they hung on to defeat the Bloods 4.3 (27) to 2.9 (21).
Jordan Savoia was brilliant for the Tigers and Laura Lonergan stood out. The gallant Bloods were best served by Jessica Kopp and Kate Kopp.
Fourth-placed Golden Square scored its best win of the season when it defeated third-placed Woorinen by 21 points.
Molly Pianta and Brooklyn Reid were best for Square, while Dayna Kelly-Guthrie and Lily Den Houting tried hard for the Tigers.
Mia Ward bagged eight goals to lead second-placed Strathfieldsaye to a 62-point win over Sandhurst.
Brylie Cahoon and Lucy Jackson also played well in the Storm’s 12.9 (81) to 3.1 (19) win.
Sandhurst’s best were Lily Dickson and Dana Morris.
In the final game of the round, top team Kangaroo Flat thrashed Eaglehawk by 132 points.
In the under-15 girls, the most competitive game was at Harry Trott Oval where South Bendigo defeated Eaglehawk by 22 points.
A six-goal to none second term set up the 9.6 (60) to 5.8 (38) win.
Charlize Bake was superb for the Bloods and Charly Watson won plenty of the ball. Eaglehawk’s best players were Lexie Moss and Drew Ryan.
In other games, Golden Square kept White Hills scoreless and won by 67 points, while top team Sandhurst also kept Strathfieldsaye scoreless in its 93-point win.
In under-12A action, St Therese’s upset ladder leader Kyneton to keep their hopes of a top-two finish alive.
The Sharks won 4.7 (31) to 2.4 (16) with Jacob Austin and Henry Edwards the standout players. Max Prendergast and Bailey Ryan battled hard for the Tigers.
Second-placed Golden Square moved within one win of top spot when it defeated Strathfieldsaye 9.10 (64) to 3.2 (20).
Dalton Webb and Sampson Tully led the way for the Dogs. William Harvey and Jett Grundy were best for the Storm.
In under-14A seniors, bottom side Strathfieldsaye upstaged third-placed Golden Square by 10 points.
Strathfieldsaye’s Ben Elkington and Dermott Bell impressed, while Aidan Corr and Bailey Cain were Golden Square’s best players.
In under-16 seniors, wayward kicking cost White Hills victory against Golden Square.
The Demons had 24 scoring shots to 19 but went down 12.7 (79) to 9.15 (69). Will Beagley and Brodie James stood out for the Bulldogs and Ethan Arnold and Callum Stewart tried hard for the Demons.
Sandhurst edged out South Bendigo by six points in a thriller.
The Dragons trailed by six points at the last change, but kicked four goals to two in the final term to win 8.6 (54) to 7.6 (48). Noah Walsh continued his great form for the Dragons, while South Bendigo’s best was Wil McCaig.
Strathfieldsaye took a stranglehold of fifth place when it defeated Eaglehawk by 63 points. Tim Werps and Jake Gamble were best on ground for the Storm. Nash Viney and Elias Ashman impressed for the Borough.
Jack Hickman and Aidan Hare led Kangaroo Flat to a 55-point win over Castlemaine.
