A male teenager who was transported by road ambulance to Bendigo hospital in a serious but stable condition has since been air-lifted to Melbourne.
Ambulance Victoria and Bendigo Health both confirmed the teenager – who is believed to be the passenger on the motorcycle – was transferred to the the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He remains in a stable condition.
The driver of the motorcycle – a man in his 20s – was transported to the Alfred Hospital from the scene in Kangaroo Flat.
He remains in a critical but stable condition.
Update, 6.40pm:
A patient has been transported by air ambulance to Melbourne with life threatening injuries following a crash in Kangaroo Flat on Sunday afternoon.
Another has been transported by road ambulance to Bendigo.
Church Street is now open.
Update, 4.46pm:
A man has received life threatening injuries after a crash on Church Street, Kangaroo Flat.
Paramedics are assessing the driver of a motorcycle after a crash, in which he received serious injuries.
A passenger who was riding pillion did not receive life-threatening injuries. He is being treated locally.
Air ambulance has been called to the scene.
Police report that a motorcycle was travelling south along Church Street when it hit a car.
No occupants of the car were injured.
Police have asked for witnesses to step forward if they have dashcam footage or saw the crash take place.
4.30pm:
Paramedics are assessing two people at the scene of a crash on Church Street in Kangaroo Flat.
Ambulance were called to the scene at 3:50pm on Sunday.
An air ambulance has been called.
One patient has received head injuries.
Church Street is closed between Camp Street and Chapel Street. Cars can still travel up Chapel Street, but cannot turn right onto Church Street.
Ambulance, Police and Country Fire Authority are attending the scene.
