Businesses are being urged to donate raffle prizes as the region mobilises to support farming communities crippled by drought.

The stock team at GrainCorp Marong are calling on businesses to donate to a raffle and afternoon tea for Rural Aid’s Buy a Bale campaign.
GrainCorp’s Laura Verbeek said money raised would help send a semi-trailer load of large bales north.
“We’ve had quite a few donations already. We’ve got some really good prizes like an AFL package with tickets,” she said.
Among others to pledge donations are a selection of regional restaurants who will donate a portion of chicken parmigiana sales and Bunnings stores, which are expected to hold sausage sizzles next Friday.
Funds raised will go towards livestock feed and household essentials for drought affected families and communities.
GrainCorp Marong’s raffle will take place on Monday August 13. To donate, contact Laura on 5431 1273.
